Warcraft: The Rap

This one is about playing computer games... Amusing. Keep in mind there is a lot of slang on here. So if you are not understanding everything, don't worry!

Getting home from school and my brain is full
Grab a cup o' cup o' noodles and a can of Red Bull
I'm Warcrafting y'all, and I can't just stop
Because I'm chillin' with my homies up in Azeroth

So I'm calling all my friends cuz they know what to do
Yo, Remz, you online? Nah, I'm waiting in a queue
I'm thinking I'm-a duel ya, I'm thinking I'm-a hurt ya
They call me Andre Agassi, I dominate this server

I'm a level 30 human, and I'm spec'd to kill
I ain't gotta camp your corpse, but I expect I will
Shooting shadow magic all up into your head
Because I got more spell than an Indian kid

Remz, dig it, did you get your tickets to prom?
Man, I ain't got a girlfriend, I got a CD-ROM
Ain't got time for girls, food or bathroom breaks
I got a dragon cave I have to raid today

I'm a warlock trained, doing raids for money
Hold my breath for 10 and my pee for 20
Got my armor on and yo it's you I'll finish
So much purple on, you'd think my name was Grimace

Buying armor yo like it's deductible
I got more Hillman clothes than Cliff Huxtable
A big spender with vendors and yo you can't believe
I got more gold in tow than yo this rapper's teeth

More XP than Windows, heal like stilettos
Dealing herb in the Stormwind ghetto
Load you with dots, like Kaposi's sarcoma
What you gonna type, noob? LFG Gnomer?

MMORPG.
See you in PvP
Think you're leet, but you're not
Patati et patata.

Momma calls me down for dinner, ain't got time to eat
Unless I'm eating cave mold and I ain't on my feet
She keeps calling, but I gotta keep far from her
Because you know I level more than a carpenter

I'm in a cave with some friends and I'm busy killing mobs
I call this place Terrell Owens cuz it's got so many drops.
Hit you with my magic wand, I see you trying not to weep
If you're nice I'll spare your life and turn you into a sheep

In the BG's, trying to defend the gold mine
Place is like a single's bar, everybody's 39
Oh, you're drinking buffs, that's how you got so cool.
You don't replenish mana drinking hater-ade, fool.

McDonald's: The Rap

This is a rap about Macdonalds. Watch it and follow along with the lyrics.

Sittin' on the couch with the morning post
With a cold cup of coffee and some boring toast
Thinkin' I'm-a change it up, yeah that's always fun
What you reckon, Remz? A McDonald's run

So we hit the couch cushions, need some dollars, friend
Yo, I found a five. Man, that's Canadian.
How 'bout a loonie? A twonie? A spoon or The Goonies?
Oh, it's 10:25. Dude, you gotta move, G.

Got the cash, got the car, got the pedal to the floor
Speed limit's 25, but I'm doing 34
Going drive-thru style, man it's fast express
You can call it trans fat, I call it happiness

Roll up to the teller fella with a minute to spare
Frenchy with a headset, "can I take your order?"
A McGriddle with a little sweet and sour there, son
A McMuffin, then be stuffin' muffins up in my trunk

Then a tray or two of hotcakes, man I can't decide, uh...
All's I know is hit them things with Aunt Jemimah
How 'bout an egg fajita for some Texas flavor
No drama but my momma wants a breakfast bagel

Don't forget my #4, or there'll be hell to spend
And I want them eggs poached like an elephant
Frenchy back on the line, "is that all your order?"
No it ain't, fool, I want a Coca-Cola!

Get my cup of Coke and I'm-a start a riot
Cuz on the cup lid, dude depressed the "diet"
Check his shirt tag, and I catch the name
Brian, I ain't tryin' to drink aspartame

Sittin' on the couch, 'bout an hour later
Pickin' at a pouch of some Now n' Laters
Hardly starving, man, but I find a hunch
Start the car up fast because it's time for lunch

It just takes two bucks and I get what I need
Two beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese
"Supersize Me" said he's had enough of it
But how is it bad for my heart if I'm in love with it?

If you never had McDonald's, heck, well dude you should
It's a party, like a Hardee's, except the food is good
Just don't get a large #2, I plead with you friend
Cuz it'll be a large #2 when you see it again

Enter the store, first you holla, then you
Pick a couple items off the dollar menu
Four hot McNuggets, dessert with custard
Mix the sweet n' sour with a squirt of mustard.

A Big Mac attack, you can max the lettuce
Paying ain't a pain, they take cash or credit
Want a water? You can pay up there for spring
Or get the free Grimace cup--how embarassing

They say, "you're playing with a cardiac arrest, my boy"
Only thing bad for my heart's when they forget my toy
Now I'm-a have a milkshake, but before you rant
It's made of shamrocks--now that's a plant

People say it's bad, but I don't believe them
McDonald's is peace--just ask Tom Friedman
Momma catch me with a 'zine, and she's screaming "stop!
Don't you worry, Mom, it's just my man Ray Kroc

ESL Podcast Club

Hello my lovely students,

Over the weekend I had an idea. I thought I'd send you a message to explain it to you.

The internet and Mp3 players have changed the way we listen to music, videos, radio, etc... They have also become a great tool for learning English! There are many great podcasts on the internet. You should check them out, it's a great way to practice listening! But that is not my idea.

My idea is starting a Podcasting Club. This club would not meet at Jeju ESL academy. It would be outside of class time. What I want to do is find a group of students who would like to make a Podcast show (like a radio show) in English.

What would our show be about? Well, I think it is up to you to decide. It can be about anything you like. First we would decide on the idea, then write the show. Then we will record the show together.

Why should I help? For those people who are really interested in speaking English well, this kind of practice is great! You will learn to write basic shows and how to speak clearly so that other people can understand you easily. Other people will be able to listen to you, and practice their English too! PLUS, you get to meet with ME! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

These meetings will happen on the weekends (maybe 2 times a month). It is something that I am volunteering to help with. So, if you are interested in making a Podcast (like an internet radio show) in English, please tell me!

English Podcasts

Hi Everybody,

I found a website that has Podcasts (like internet radio) in English. They speak clearly and are easy to understand. After each conversation they explain what the people were saying, and explain idioms and common English phrases.

If you want to get learning guides, you should buy a membership, but you can listen to the podcasts for free.
